Based on the work in Kenn's Book, How to Improvise a Full-Length Play; The Art of Spontaneous Theater, this class is designed for improvisers who already know the basics – be spontaneous, make your partner look good, and build upon your partner’s idea. The class will offer Kenn's proven and innovative approach towards improvising a full-length play with a satisfying beginning, middle and end. It will focus on:
- Improvising spontaneously within the structure of a well-made, full-length play
- Improvising a well-crafted, two or multiple-character scene with a focused and compelling dramatic conflict
- Cause-and-effect dramatic storytelling
- Raising the dramatic stakes
- Creating characters that support the narrative
- Using the environment as a catalyst for dramatic action
- Using theme, symbol, and metaphor as important dramatic devices
